My name is William Sage, I am a professional freelance musician based in South Manchester, this is my portfolio website. It contains all of the services I offer such as drum lessons, wedding DJ sets, sound system hire, session work and other performance based projects.
About Me
My career began when I was 13, I started having drum lessons at Kingsway Secondary School. I learned basic grooves and played in rock bands and pop groups. I broadened my repertoire of styles by playing different genres of music such as punk, hip hop, funk, metal, electronic, jazz, reggae and afro cuban. Over the past seven years I have developed a solo project called Amen Sage. This is a live jungle drum and bass drumming act. When I perform live I drum along to my own pre-recorded DJ mixes that contain my own material and various types of jungle drum and bass music. I have played at countless festivals and venues across the country and continue to pursue this project to this day.
As my career progessed I started DJing and hiring out my soundsystem for events and functions such as birthdays, weddings and car shows. I DJ different genres of electronic music such as drum and bass, jungle, dub, house and garage. However, when doing a wedding, birthday or function I cater to whatever my clients musical preferences are to suit there special day.
From 2020 to 2024 I attended the University Of Salford and graduated with a First Class Honours in Popular Music & Recording.
In 2021, I started my drum teaching career, my first client being my neighbour's ten year old son Harry. I have continued to teach him and I very much enjoy our lessons together. Since then I have had students of different ages and abilites, I find it wonderful helping people with their percussive goals. Since October 2024 I have been teaching at Poynton Drum School, I teach children of primary school age and find it very rewarding.
Music has been an intrinsic part of my life, it has brought passion and joy from different avenues over the years. Music gives me an amazing sense of identity and purpose in my life, it brings me great satisfaction when I share my skills with others, either in a teaching capacity or performing.

Drum Tuition
All levels, abilities and ages are welcome. I have a mixture of beginners, intermediates and advanced students pursuing there musical goals. Whether you wish to learn your grades, expand your drum repertoire, or simply drum along to your favourite songs, I can meet your requirements.
Wedding DJ / Soundsystem Hire
If it's a wedding, a birthday or a work's party, my services include a full 2000 Watt Soundsystem with DJ equipment and lighting. I will work with you and tailor to any occasion and any genre of your choice.
Session Work
If you have a recording project or album and you need a drummer, look no further. I have experience in multiple genres such as rock, metal, pop punk, grunge, jazz, jungle, drum and bass, garage, house, afro cuban rhythms and many more. I have featured on various albums and eps and I am experienced in working in a studio environment.
Amen Sage
Over the past seven years I have developed a solo project called Amen Sage, it is a live jungle drum and bass drumming act. The philosophy behind the act is you’re hearing live authentic drums playing against a DJ mix, it creates excitement and a live humanistic feel to this style of electronic music.
Union Sound
I am affiliated with a sound system collective in Manchester called Union Sound, we hire out our system for events and host our own DJ nights. Union Sound is a group of like-minded, enthusiastic, musically-driven individuals, with a lot of passion for the electronic music scene in the UK.
